Hello all! It's Thursday! I've been pretty sure all day that it's Wednesday or Friday. Or Monday or Tuesday. At what age is it normal to not remember what day of the week it is? I knew I never should have had that last birthday!
Awkward:
- I'm listening to music and I keep typing song lyrics instead of this post. School is over and apparently so is my ability to multi-task.
- Poor husbandman is sick. :( He says his sick voice sounds like a transvestite. Cue strange visual. P.S. Men are babies when they're sick. No offense, men.
- This guy was hauled off of a plane and booked because his pants were too low. You know, the kind of pants that are barely functioning as pants cause they're hanging down below their bum? He refused to pull them up. I actually feel bad for the reporter who had to spend his time to cover such a dumb story. When in doubt, always pull your pants up. Jeez.
- I recently found out that most of the ice cream in ice cream commercials is actually colored mashed potatoes. I feel like I've been living a lie.
- A girl in one of my friend's classes asked if all the world's countries share the same moon. I am worried for this generation.
- I decided that I want to learn to play tennis well. It seems like a worthwhile sport. Then I got kinda sad because I realized that the worst part about about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I will never be as good as a wall.
- Did you know Live Savers were invented the same year the Titanic sank? Ironic.
Awesome:
- The cousins and I finally got our Harry Potter tickets! We're going as an army of house elves. If that's not legit, I don't know what is.
- Speaking of Harry Potter (which I do, a lot) the other day I was at Jamba Juice and they asked for my name and I told them it was Voldemort. When the girl called my name to come get my snoothie, she said, "Vol- I mean, He-who-must-not-be-named!" I think this girl and I could be great friends.
- I asked husbandman the other day who his first crush was and he said me and the pink Power Ranger.
- Yesterday I saw an advertisement for granola bars that said "Grab health by the nuts."
- I plan to spend the next half hour drawing faces on all of our eggs. Hopefully husband doesn't read this before he sees them. He likes to read our blog to help him keep up on what is happening in our lives. :)
- Do any of you watch So You Think You Can Dance? Love. This particular dance was from a few years ago but it remains one of my favorites to this day. If you want to skip all the talking and just get down to the dancing, skip to 2:15.

I'm Almost There!
Posted by
B and B
This Friday is my college graduation! Tomorrow morning is my last final. Like ever.
It's the next big step and holy moley have I worked hard to get here! "There's been trials and tribulations. You know I've had my share. But there ain't nothing gonna stop me now cause I'm almost there!"
Ok, so my aspirations are not nearly as freaking awesome as Tiana's (owning a restaurant? ah!). I'm not exactly sure where I go from here. But really, who wants to know everything that's going to happen next? In a way, I kind of like not knowing. It makes my dreams seem limitless
All I know is, If I have anything to say about it, it's going to be loads of hilarious fun!

Top Five Friday

B and B
This weekend, my cousins and I are having an 80's dance party of sorts to learn the sweet moves from this video:
Completely epic, is it not? As were the outfits:
So this week I thought I would share my top five favorite things from the 80's. Granted, I only lived in the 80's for three short years, but they were quite meaningful years.
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Seriously, peeps. They were the shiz. To this day I still know their theme song by heart.
3. This video. It seriously revolutionized all things music video. It was the deepest desire of my heart at one point to learn all the moves and perform them in a public setting. Maybe someday... Live on, Michael.
4. The hair. More specifically the hair on 80's rock bands. More specifically 80's rock bands in general. I realize that's not very specific.
5. Seriously, this list could go on for days. There were so many great things about this time. My cousins would be disappointed if I didn't mention this one though. The Skip-it. I have no idea why we played with these things. They were a dang hazard. Someone's ankle was always inevitably maimed. And they always hit you right on the bone where it hurt. I still think the theme song is amazing though. "And the very best thing of all, there's a counter on this ball!"
Thanks for reading! And for all of you 80's lovers out there, I have this to say:
"Wax on, wax off."

Freeze!

Ok, so I am weird. I've always considered it a part of my charm... Right? Riiiiiight?? *Tap tap* Is this thing on?
Yesterday, my crazy cousins and I went down to the Utah County Home and Garden Expo for another random adventure. We participated in a flash mob by freezing in place for two minutes.

The Festival of Colors...
Posted by

...was amazing! We had such a great time. This may be the only occasion where it is considered socially acceptable to throw dust in someone else's face. In fact, they're happy about it!
The sky carries a slight pink tinge.
There are a number of things that will never be as white as they once were. My teeth among them.
Yeah. That colored powder was everywhere! It was in every nook and cranny of my whole self.
Here's a video someone much braver than me made. No way was I taking my good camera out into this mayhem.

Just grab a friend and take a ride...

I use this photo every time I take a road trip because I just love it that much.
My dad, sister, husbandman and I are heading to Seattle for the week. I'm shooting a documentary there for school which hopefully is going to turn out awesome. Wish me luck! I'm sure it's going to be rainy so I'll need to remember to get our umbrella out of the freezer...
I still get a huge kick out of this song:

Please summer, don't be late...

How I'm feeling today...
I'm so tired of the cold and snow! I need summer to be here. Like now.
Awkward:
- I'm feeling creatively moribund.
- Today I was sewing on a button and eating peanut butter M&Ms. Apparently I mixed up my hands and into my mouth the button went.
- I finally joined the Beautiful Belly Challenge and displayed my beautiful belly for the world to see. That was hard.
- This morning I was listening to music while in the shower. My favorite song came on so I turned the shower knob down so I could hear better. The shower knob, of course, does not make it quieter, it makes it colder.
- My littlest brother schooled me in Just Dance 2. This is awkward because we were dancing to a Pussycat Dolls song.
- My alarm clock plays the beginning of the song The Circle of Life from the Lion King. Listen to it and you'll understand why I jump every time.
Awesome:
- I'm going to Seattle for Spring Break! I'm so excited to be anywhere but here. Any locals or frequent visitors have advice on activities/ places to eat?
- My favorite movie right now: Morning Glory. Have you seen it? It's irresistibly delightful in my book! The scene where the weather guy passes out in the jet?? I die!
- Today I talked 5 people in one of my classes into wearing costumes during finals week. I feel this will help ease the stress.
- My mom told me that if I was a boy, they were going to name me Braden. :)
- Today I learned how to fold a dollar into a ring. Our waiters will be getting some freaking amazing looking tips.
- Brade and I just finished off a couple rolls of wrapping paper on a craft project. We plan to use the cardboard dowels for an epic duel to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.
- I found out there is a Ninja restaurant in New York. The whole place is a like a ninja palace with mazes and stuff. While you're eating, sometimes the lights go off and your silverware gets stolen from your table. I want to go there for my next birthday. Will somebody please let husbandman know?

No Boys Allowed

Why yes, I did have a splendid time on our girls-only trip this past weekend! Thanks for asking. We lounged around and played in the sand and basked in the wonderful sunlight. I want summer to be here. Like now. Below are some photos from our trip. Yes, the sand in St. George really is that red.
I love hangin' with the girls sometimes.
XOXO Ladies!
P.S. Here's a little video I made of us playin' in the sand and sun. It was total bliss. Enjoy!

I should have gotten his autograph

It has come to my attention recently that American Idol has started up again, so I thought I would share a weird wedding story with you this Wednesday about a groom who... sang.
Now a lot of people sing at weddings. It's very common. I always think it's sweet when the groom sings to the bride. Lyrics can often be the most perfect words you could say to your sweetheart. So when this groom sat down at the piano during his wedding reception and announced he had a special song prepared for his new wife, the room was still with anticipation.
He opened his mouth and the first few notes came out. Those notes sounded a lot like what I imagine the child of Prince and Reba McEntire might sound like on a very gnarly roller coaster. The kind of roller coaster that makes you either pee your pants or throw up on the person behind you. I wanted to run and hide and pretend music was never invented. He finally finished and there was a collective sigh of relief (I swear there was!) amongst the attendees. Just when I started thinking, ok so that was spectacularly awful, but it was kind of cute that he was singing for her, the singing started again. Oh. My. Dang. The groom was singing another song! People looked around like they were trying to see if he was serious. Someone started giggling and a few people even gasped.
He went on to sing two more songs after that. That's right my friends. FOUR SONGS. I thought my head was going to explode! Once he finished, everyone just stood there. A couple people clapped and the rest ran for the bar. He then announced that he would be handing out CDs for the next half an hour and signing autographs. At his wedding!! The people at the bar had the right idea. I thought about taking up drinking myself.
Luckily I had Ingrid Michaelson on my phone in the back to restore my faith in humanity.
Whew! That was a rough one to recall. Those four songs haunted my dreams for a while afterward. Mostly I've tried to block it out by drowning myself in my favorite musicals. Let's listen to some of this loveliness:
Feel better? Me too.

Today I am a filmmaker.
I somehow talked my cousin and his cute wife into standing out in the snow and slowly freezing to death. Aren't they totally adorable?? Their noses are cute and red. I died.

So what do you think? Am I cut out for filmmaking? I want your honest (or maybe slightly sugar-coated) opinion. But, remember that this was my first attempt so try to be gentle.
Have a fabulous day!

Ok, so maybe I'm a couple days late, but here is a Halloween video for your particular enjoyment. Welcome to November!
P.S. You should probably make it full screen because it's incredibly delightful. :)

We are aware that we're weird

I slept for nine hours last night. I woke up at noon. No, I am not sick. Just exhausted. Being a senior in college is not for the faint of heart. B and I slept on the couch cause we were too tired to get our sheets out of the dryer and put them back on the bed. And when you sleep on a feather bed without sheets, the feathers stick out and poke you in the night. It's true. I've woken up with an odd assortment of scratches to prove it.
Did you all have a fabulous Halloween? I know I did. Pictures of that to come soon. A little scary story for you. A few weeks ago Brade and I were perusing the Halloween aisle at a local Wallgreens when I came across a mask that looked something like this:

A devious plot began to form in my head.
So I donned this oh-so-scary mask and creeped around the corner towards my husband who was carefully contemplating a row of Halloween sweets. I got down really close to his ear and did my very best Darth Vader death rattle impression.
It took him a couple seconds to notice, but then he turned his head and let out a shriek. Truly, he was terrified. He may have nightmares for several weeks. Ah, sweet victory.
For those of you that are feeling sorry for him at this moment, you should know that he scares me at least ten times a week. Ok, so maybe it's more that I scare myself when I step on one of Bandit's squeaky toys on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but hey, he was there!
So, don't feel too sorry for him.
Since it's now November and Christmas is on the brain-- officially-- I thought I would share with you a favorite holiday tradition Braden, Berlyn and I share. We loooove to go to Hobby Lobby and find the ugliest ornaments there. They really do have some truly horrendous ones. :)
The fuzzy pink poodle in the cup was a particular favorite of mine. :)
Ok, so maybe this is not the most normal holiday tradition, but we sure get a huge kick out of it. And yes, we are aware that this tradition is weird. And that that we're weird. We know.
Speaking of weird, here's a lil' video of Berlyn and cousin Kate bowling. The grace. The athleticism. Have a happy week!

Dream Drive

It has always been a dream near and dear to my hubby lubby's heart to drive a Ferrari. He loves cars, and pretty much anything that goes Vrrrrrroooooom! He's such a boy.
Since I am the gift-giving-goddess of the world, I uncovered this little place in Colorado for him to fulfill this lifelong wish. I am such a good wife. Luckily for us, husbandman has an awesome auntie living in very close proximity to our destination, so we had a fun time staying with her and her fam for the weekend.
So we drove for hours to Colorado Springs to... drive for hours through the mountains near Denver and then... drove for hours to get home. It was a lo-hot of driving. Oh my dang! We did have a great time together though and the scenery was spectacular. Plus Brade has a humongo smile on his face the whole time which made the whole trip completely worth it.
Check out the vid I made of our Dream Drive. It's pretty shaky because, well, I was in a car most of the time. We got to drive a Ferrari, Corvette and this bizarre creation called the Ariel Atom. That's the one that looks like a go-kart and looks completely unsafe and totally not street-legal. It is. You just have to wear helmets to avoid getting bugs and rocks and other cars in your teeth. It was my personal favorite. It was like an amusement park ride. Check it out!

Check us out in our Olympic debut!
