We Did It!

Today I graduated from college. It was amazing! I've never felt more proud of years of hard work. I think I even grew a fourth of an inch taller this afternoon. I'm the first one in my family to graduate from college, you know. :)

I so wish I would have worn a Where's Waldo? outfit for this. It would have been minutes of entertainment for those attending Convocation.

Here I am about to receive my diploma...

I'm so lucky to have a super supportive family!
Which brings me to our topic for today...

The Top Five Best Things About Graduating From College:

1. A black cap and gown. My high school graduation ones were white. I looked like a beached beluga whale. I kid you not.

2. I will no longer have to contemplate selling a kidney to buy books. Books now cost a normal, human amount.

3. I will no longer turn into a demented demon beast not fit to see the sun whenever the second week in December or the last week in April rolls around. Husbandman was contemplating changing continents last week. Finals are a thing of the past. Foreva! This should probably be moved to number one.

4. I'm gonna keep my gown and use it as Hogwarts robes for the Harry Potter premier this summer. I'm pretty excited!

5. I now have time to spend reaquainting myself with my super cool kitchen gadgets. We don't have to eat Ramen for dinner every night! Although we probably still will sometimes. Cause it's kinda good...

Have a great weekend, you guys! XOXO

Did you watch??

It's Friday, April 29, 2011. Aka the Royal Wedding Day. Did you watch the big event? I confess that I haven't had time yet, but I have caught snippets. If you haven't guessed by now, I love weddings. And this, my friends, was the wedding of the decade!

The bride was completely gorgeous! How would it be to have all these amazing designers vying for the opportunity to make your wedding dress? Sigh...

It is a good thing William is a prince. Otherwise I think she would have been way out of his league. I'm just stating the obvious here.

Now I've been just as into it as anyone, but I'm actually going to be a little relieved when all the Royal Wedding hysteria is behind us.

For today's Top Five Friday, I'm going to share some insight into what it means to be a true Royal Wedding fanatic. We're talking major obsession.

The Top Five Manifestations of Royal Wedding Mania

1. I almost died when I saw this. Really dude, really?

2. Three couples got married in Times Square early this morning while watching the live broadcast of the Royal Wedding. I don't understand this at all. One of the three grooms talked about the experience saying, "It's amazing it's the same day, but it feels a little bit for them." He was immediately silenced by his bride who corrected him, "No. It's for us." Personally, I'm with him on this one.

3. This exists. For real.

4. Why yes, since you asked. That is a refrigerator with William and Kate's engagement picture forever immortalized in someone's kitchen.
5. Yes, that is exactly what you think it is. Sorry this one is a little scandalous. I hope I don't offend you. I just... I can't even...

P.S. In case you were morbidly curious, that little tiny print says "Like a royal wedding, intercourse with a loved one is an unforgettable occasion."

Oh man.

On a side note, Kate's been officially made into a Barbie. That's when you know you're kind of a big deal.

I've just gotta say, I really hope it works out for these two and they do live happily ever after. Do you have any ridiculous Royal Wedding mania stories to share?

Top Five Friday

This weekend, my cousins and I are having an 80's dance party of sorts to learn the sweet moves from this video:

Completely epic, is it not? As were the outfits:

So this week I thought I would share my top five favorite things from the 80's. Granted, I only lived in the 80's for three short years, but they were quite meaningful years.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Seriously, peeps. They were the shiz. To this day I still know their theme song by heart.
2. The game MASH (mansion apartment shelter house). Please tell me you played this with your friends at school.

3. This video. It seriously revolutionized all things music video. It was the deepest desire of my heart at one point to learn all the moves and perform them in a public setting. Maybe someday... Live on, Michael.

4. The hair. More specifically the hair on 80's rock bands. More specifically 80's rock bands in general. I realize that's not very specific.

5. Seriously, this list could go on for days. There were so many great things about this time. My cousins would be disappointed if I didn't mention this one though. The Skip-it. I have no idea why we played with these things. They were a dang hazard. Someone's ankle was always inevitably maimed. And they always hit you right on the bone where it hurt. I still think the theme song is amazing though. "And the very best thing of all, there's a counter on this ball!"

Thanks for reading! And for all of you 80's lovers out there, I have this to say:

"Wax on, wax off."

Top Five Friday

I decided to start a new feature. Top Five Friday! On Fridays I will make a list of my top five special things that I feel like talking about at any given moment. I'm stealing the idea from this lady. She writes a completely fabulous blog mostly centered around a very magical creature.

So this Friday...
Top Five Favorite Drinks
1. Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks
Oh man, oh man! This stuff is like little drops of heaven. Try it. Then send warm fuzzies my way cause you're so in love.

2. Ocean Water from Sonic
I'm not sure what it is about this stuff. I'm not a huge soda drinker, but this is the exception. It's super tasty and reminds me of the beach. And not just because of the name.

3. Chocolate Almond Amore from The Olive Garden
I get the non-alcoholic version but I'm sure the other is good too. This is basically a chocolate shake with a dash of almond in it. De-lish!

4. Horchata from Cafe Rio
I've never tried this drink from anywhere else, so I am by no means an expert. But this one is yummy! It takes like rice pudding in drink form.

5. Clementine Izze
This is a recent discovery. I think it might be a new flavor. Love it! It reminds me of summer. And boy am I ready to get my summer on!
