Second-versary!

Today we've been married for two years. For real. Duuuuude...

I really can't believe it's been that long, but that's what all the calendars are telling me. Even Facebook says it's our anniversary, so it must be true.
Hitting the two-year mark makes us officially old and no longer newlyweds. I think I'm ok with that. These past two years have been some of the best and worst of my life, but there is nothing more comforting than having my best friend by my side.

Sometimes I still can't figure out how I ended up marrying the boy next door, but every day I wake up to find myself crazy about him. Go figure.

Here's a photo that I love from our wedding day two years ago:

Some interesting/ lame facts (and some of my favorite things) about my husbandman in no particular order:
- He's a weirdo. I never knew. I always thought he was the normal one. Turns out I was mistaken.
- He has a lovely singing voice. Although he almost never shares it with the world.
- He has webbed toes. This fact is not widely known. I think it's funny. :) He doesn't like it when I pull on them.
- He's going to be an amazing daddy someday. All the little girls in nursery have a crush on him.
- He gives super awesome foot massages, which makes him the best guy in the entire world in my book.
- He gets really grumpy when he's hungry. Don't tell him that he's only grumpy because he's hungry. That will only make him grumpier. Just slide some food in front of him and walk away.
- He's a saver. This fact is very well-known. As is the fact that I... am not.
- Sometimes when he says "Brittany" in a weird accent, it sounds like "bunny." So now he calls me Bunny. It's gaggy, I know.

I love him so. I made this super cool video to show my love. I especially like the part with the scorpions.

Scary Hands

It's Awkward and Awesome Thursday! I haven't done this for a while, but it's good to be back. :)

Awkward:
-Husbandman's computer is sitting by me and it keeps resetting itself. I'm really worried something malevolent is going to come out of it and suck out my soul. Have I mentioned before that I really shouldn't watch scary movies? Ever.
- I waited about 5 minutes behind a car pulling out of a parking lot only to realize that the car was parked, not running and had no one in it.
- I walked into a bathroom and saw a sign that didn't make any sense. It said, "Caution: Floor is slippery when wet." I was confused because the floor was carpeted.
- It's snowing outside. It's difficult to go anywhere in April in Utah. I have to bring both shorts and snow pants everywhere I go.
- I was wondering today: What was Captain Hook's name before his hand was cut off?
- Those Swiffer commercials with the dirt and mud people. For some reason these totally creep me out.
- I had a dream that husband brought home a hedgehog so we dyed his quills blue and named him Sonic.
- I sat next to a new person in class this morning. I asked him what his name was and he said, "Tom Riddle." I'm scared.

Awesome:
- Tonight at work was a rather difficult wedding, but the dishwashers made it all better with some amazing entertainment including an interpretative dance to Eye of the Tiger and lip syncing to the a Spice Girls number. Thanks, boys!
- Husbandman and I went to get sushi on April Fool's Day and they brought us a goldfish in a bowl.
- There are only 4 weeks until I graduate! 4 flippin' weeks!
- Say Yes to the Dress. I think my wedding obsession fuels my love for this show. I love the way their faces light up when they find the right one. Do any of you watch it?
- My professor's beard has its own Facebook page. No one knows who started it, but it has 67 friends including my professor himself.
- Digiorno now comes with cookies. Epic win.
- Husbandman asked me to put a Veggie Tales sing-along into our Netflix queue. Boy, I love him!
- I went to a pet store the other day and met a parrot that had been taught to say, "Help! I've been turned into a parrot!"
- Tomorrow we are going to buy little rubber duckies and put them in the puddles in the church parking lot. I'm pretty excited.
- My scary hands. Husbandman is very frightened indeed.

Did anything awkward or awesome happen to you this week?

A Gift From the Heart

Today I am to capture something my spouse has given me. All I can say about this one is this: my man takes care of me.

Here he is scraping off my car before school this morning. It was practically encased in ice. He was out there freezing his bum off and I was inside the car all toasty warm.

Gosh I love him.

Taken on my phone. Sidenote: look how beautiful the sky is today! That beautiful blue totally made me happy. I'm solar-powered.

Day 4: What They Wear

Here's husbandman looking a little creeper in his favorite hat. I really wish I could explain this photo is further detail. But there are no words.

Day 1: What They Do

I recently signed up for a course to celebrate love throughout the month of February. It's called Finding the Joy of LOVE. Each day will be a challenge for me to photograph something different about the people I love. Sounds like bliss, right? Yep.

Day 1's challenge is to photograph someone you love doing something. Did y'all know husbandman is a drummer? Well he is! How cool is that?? He just does it for fun at the moment and to relieve stress. He wants to join a band eventually though, so we'll see how that goes. He's awesome. For real. I like it when he spins his drumstick between his fingers. It's nifty. Please don't beat me up for using such a nerdy word.

You have to wear headphones when you listen to him play. Otherwise your eardrums will explode. There's a lot of insane gesturing that goes on if we need to communicate during this time.

Thanks for looking! I hope this month of finding the joy proves to be fun and challenging.

You're lowfat and I'm workin' on that...

This song is for husbandman. He's the jelly to my peanut butter... the sweet to my chunky. ;)

We're so happy on our little piece of bread.

Oh "Chute!"

Today I was an awesome big sister. My little brother has a science fair project due tomorrow and, being from a family of mega huge procrastinators, he hadn't even started it yet. So husbandman and I decided to help him out. We ended up having a really good time!

Lil' bro's experiment involved dropping eggs strapped to parachutes off of the roof! How stinkin' fun is that?? Then we measured the splat radius to determine the effectiveness of each parachute size. We fashioned the parachutes from some trash bags and duct tape and string. The experiment worked surprisingly well. One of the eggs even survived the landing without a single crack!

(Sometimes I draw cute faces on eggs when I'm really proud of their accomplishments)

Husbandman was the brave soul who volunteered to make the journey up the ladder and launch the doomed eggs to the designated cardboard landing pad. The pad had a total area of one square foot. None of the eggs actually landed there. :) I was the designated photographer/ gooey-eggy-mess-cleaner-upper. It's funny how often those two coincide.

Check out husbandman. It's not easy to pose so well on a rooftop holding a parachute with a precariously-perched egg specimen. He's got mad posing skills.

Ok yes, we're five. But doesn't he look super cute in his new jacket? Yep, yes, yeah he does. Feel free to leave some bloggin' love just for hims. Cause you can clearly tell from these pictures that he deserves it.
