Love Notes

Husbandman is in Bear Lake this weekend with his family. I had to stay home and work. :( Actually I'm glad I stayed because it snowed up there. Pretty sure it's almost June, Mother Nature, but whatever!

He's never been on vacation without me since we've been married. I've gone places without him a bunch of times, but I've never been the one left home alone. Let me tell you, I don't much care for it. Bandit and I have had some good talks, but I usually dominate the conversation.

So here I am getting ready for bed and missing my hubbs when I get the following series of text messages:

H: I wish you were here. I just miss you.
Me: I miss you too.
H: I'm shleepy.
Me: Well go to sleep, silly willy.
H: Ok... but I will dream about you so you can be here.
Me: Sweet dreams, love.
H: I need a goodnight kiss.
Me: :*
H: *falling asleep* lover you'd

Sorry for the mushiness. I'm allowed sometimes cause he's pretty dang cute. True story.

Stop gagging, Bird (that's my sister).

And thanks for painting my nails today. They look great!

She also convinced little brother to let her paint his nails. He said he didn't want her to but he knew we wouldn't stop bugging him until he let us so he might as well just get it over with. He is such a wise child.

Neon pink is definitely his color.

It's back!

It's Awkward and Awesome Thursday again! Oh how we've missed you in our lives. I somehow feel whole again now.

- Our water heater turned into a water fountain the other day, soaking our storage room. The contents of our lives are now strewn all over husband's parents' house. It took me 45 minutes to find my serving tray. Not cool.
- At the store the other day, I was signing on the credit card machine when I noticed that there was already a signature there. Apparently an old lady had signed the electronic signature pad with a real pen. And now everyone knows who did it. Oops.
- Yesterday I convinced myself to dry my hair by headbanging instead of using a towel. One migraine later, my hair was still soaked. I listened to some really good songs though.
- This old lady down the street has been wearing a helmet on her head since last Friday. Apparently it's to protect her brains for when the zombies attack.
- I have been staring at this baby owl for ten minutes. I can't decide if he's creepy or adorable. Can something ever be both?

- The other day a friend of mine and I were talking about pregnancy. She is 7 months pregnant. We discussed the possibility of speaking with a British accent for the first 17 years of our first child's life and then one day dropping it out of the blue. I just need to get husbandman on board with this. I'm sure to win some major parenting awards someday.
- A dog named Mason was swept up in a tornado in Alabama. His owners assumed he was dead. He somehow survived and crawled back home after a couple of weeks with two broken legs. Dogs rule!
- Today I popped a bag of popcorn and no kernels were left unpopped. Check one off the list of life goals.
- At a restaurant the other night, I picked up a bottle of steak sauce. On the back it said: Shake well. If there's only one drop left, a more extreme form of shaking may be required. Like dancing. Or jumping jacks. You can do it.
- On Sunday, this little girl told me that I was as nice as rainbows, clouds and Disney World. How's that for making someone's day? :)
- My boys. Look how cute they are! Please excuse my very messy, very uncute apartment.

Have a happy week!

A Mexican fiesta aka the day we discovered the kazoos

My cousins rock. Have I ever told you this? We have a club and we plan random adventures. This past weekend, we had a Mexican Fiesta to celebrate a birthday. And just because we felt like it, mostly. We were also kinda celebrating the end of the world. The Rapture was supposed to occur during the party. We don't really believe in that stuff, but we figured if it did somehow happen, this would be a pretty good way to go.

The costumes were truly the stuff of dreams.
Homemade Cafe Rio pork... Mmmm...

Feliz Cumpleanos Senorita Kate!

We even had a pinata handmade in Mexico. By Vira. Oooh!
It was full of awesome candy and these little beauties... Our world will never be the same.

We've pretty much perfected the art of Kazooing and turned it gansta:

This is a duel that took place during the party. It was violent. And weird.

I can't wait to see what we come up with next!

Very mature for our age...

Have I ever told you that husbandman and I are very mature for our age? When we go to Walmart, we like to pick out clothes that are sophisticated and classy. We take the way we present ourselves in public very seriously.

Apparently you pull the shirt over your head and there's a zombie face on the inside. How do we find stuff like this, you ask? I really... really just don't know.

On a more mature note, this is what happens when you let the roll dough rise for too long.

I am literally a model housewife. Move over, Martha!

Oh heavens! This is completely the story of my life. I will say, however, that I am rather good at running with Plan B. Thanks to Starry-Eyed Charlie and her Magical Thinking Project, I have created my own manifesto. So think about this today as you go forth and do battle. Especially today on Friday the 13th (dun dun dun!)

Cause Plan B can sometimes turn out even better than Plan A.

I am not a fashion blogger

This is my graduation dress in case anyone cares to see it. I love it. The shoes may be my favorite part. The red shape on the grass in the background is the remains of a stuffed animal that was mauled to death by my dog. He does that.
This is my graduation announcement. It's very untraditional, which is just the way I like it.

We Did It!

Today I graduated from college. It was amazing! I've never felt more proud of years of hard work. I think I even grew a fourth of an inch taller this afternoon. I'm the first one in my family to graduate from college, you know. :)

I so wish I would have worn a Where's Waldo? outfit for this. It would have been minutes of entertainment for those attending Convocation.

Here I am about to receive my diploma...

I'm so lucky to have a super supportive family!
Which brings me to our topic for today...

The Top Five Best Things About Graduating From College:

1. A black cap and gown. My high school graduation ones were white. I looked like a beached beluga whale. I kid you not.

2. I will no longer have to contemplate selling a kidney to buy books. Books now cost a normal, human amount.

3. I will no longer turn into a demented demon beast not fit to see the sun whenever the second week in December or the last week in April rolls around. Husbandman was contemplating changing continents last week. Finals are a thing of the past. Foreva! This should probably be moved to number one.

4. I'm gonna keep my gown and use it as Hogwarts robes for the Harry Potter premier this summer. I'm pretty excited!

5. I now have time to spend reaquainting myself with my super cool kitchen gadgets. We don't have to eat Ramen for dinner every night! Although we probably still will sometimes. Cause it's kinda good...

Have a great weekend, you guys! XOXO

I'm Almost There!

This Friday is my college graduation! Tomorrow morning is my last final. Like ever.

It's the next big step and holy moley have I worked hard to get here! "There's been trials and tribulations. You know I've had my share. But there ain't nothing gonna stop me now cause I'm almost there!"

Ok, so my aspirations are not nearly as freaking awesome as Tiana's (owning a restaurant? ah!). I'm not exactly sure where I go from here. But really, who wants to know everything that's going to happen next? In a way, I kind of like not knowing. It makes my dreams seem limitless

All I know is, If I have anything to say about it, it's going to be loads of hilarious fun!
